Very impressed! Exceptional customer service begins from the moment of check-in, where a warm and welcoming greeting sets the tone. During dining, attentive staff ensure a pleasant experience, taking care of any special requests with a smile. When setting up the bed, attention to detail is crucial, providing a comfortable and restful sleep environment.
Experience the awe-inspiring Mountain View, complemented by a private hot spring right in your room, along with three natural hot springs within the hotel premises. The exceptional customer services provided promise an unforgettable and delightful stay!
Thank you for taking such great care of my family during our stay! Your hospitality and attention to detail made our experience truly special. We appreciate your efforts and look forward to returning in the future.
We have booked a private Onsen Cypress on Jan 11. 2024 through the official website with email back and forth with confirmation during December 2023, the hotel has confirmed by email that the 11am reservation of using the private Onsen is available.
However, when we arrived on time, the front desk told us the Cypress Onsen is using by someone else, and we can only use it until 2pm. As a hotel, you shall understand the meaning of reservation, that is keeping this space available for people who booked it! Otherwise you are just very unprofessional and shall not be working in a hotel. After several communication, magically the cypress can be used on 1pm at the earliest time, but we still have to have lunch first, which is not our original plan. We unhappily accept this arrangement but already very disappointed by the service.
We finished the lunch by 13:05, and come to the private Onsen front desk. No one is even there. Only a notice with Japanese word on it, we wait for around 10 minutes but no one came so we have to translate the Japanese wordings by ourselves and then understand we have to call the front desk by ourselves to get some one open the cypress Onsen door for us. The old front desk male manager came down to open the door.
The following part is the worst experience, the manager is very rude, he said we come VERY late and we can only use the Onsen for 20 minutes, I told him that we have to wait for the front desk to come, but he didn't listen, so I asked whether we could use the Onsen for 25 minutes, the response is "WHATEVER" and he slam the door in front of us.
For a Japanese, a old man, a manager of the hotel, what he said and did is very rude and unprofessional, he shall be shamed of his behavior and I don't think he deserved to work as a service personnel since he clearly does not know how to do his job. Firstly he didn't get the reservation correct, then he judged the client, thirdly he being very rude to the client, and last but not the least, he did NOT even give me the change after I paid for the reservation. This is also a huge mistake and everything else don't deserve me writing any good comments for this trip.
I have never met any Japanese service personnel so rude and so unprofessional, would never come to this place again.
Old but clean and great experience.
This is my second time in Arima Onsen. While my previous hotel was bigger and more luxurious (more amenities at onsen area), this one is definitely worth going to for the price point. Meals were served in room and it was good experience for first time onsen goers to see how Japanese culture is at Onsen.
Good Onsen Hotel with beautiful view and has both Ginsen (Silver) and Kinsen (Gold) water.
The location is not the most convinience but it is next to the stream and montain with good view. It's about 10 mins walk from the bus or train station with some up hill. So i would suggest you to bring a backpack or a hand carry for the night only.
The hotel is a bit out of date but has been well maintained and clean. Our room was spacious and came with a large window over looking the foilage mountain. The bathroom and amenities are also good. Tatami bed was super comfy and warm.
There are 3 public baths and several privates you can rent. However, the privates are not onsen, just a normal bath, so i would not recommend it. The public baths have both indoors and outdoors, and they are nice and quite large.
The service was also good. The lady that brought us dinner, breakfast, and prepare out futon was friendly + good service mind and can speak some English. Overall, food is decent.
Tsuzumigataki Waterfall less than 10 mins walk away from the hotel, an ideal place for morning stroll.
Review from the eye of a 6 years old
At arima we stayed in this hotel. We enjoyed the onsen very much. It has indoor and outdoor onsen. Both onsen have different mineral in the water. That is why one of the colour is gold and the other is silver. The hotel provided us with yukata so we can walk
around like a cute little girl 👧 👍🥰🇯🇵
The room was very clean and big .there were two toilets 🚽. We can eat and sleep in the room. The hotel staff helps to transform the dining place to be a sleeping place.
The food is yummy and I like the desert best. There is also a massage chair facing the mountain view.
Went there many times in the past till 2018. Back here this time. Things are changed. Did not see Chinese customers. Unfortunately, Bar and noodle shop are still closed. So, I need to figure out for drinks after dinner. Onsen, food, services are great. Great place to stay.
Excellent stay at Yugetsusanso (the older side). Room was quaint and we got to experience sleeping on a futon. The bath tub in the room was very small but you're gonna wash up in the Onsen anyway!
They have 3 different Onsen, and we got to try all three! It was nice, quiet and peaceful. Split between men and women. Each time we only meet maybe one or two other persons inside the Onsen.
The toilet in room has a bidet but the one we had was a little dusty and we found a spider web in the corner. Didn't bother us, though.
We got the wagyu beef and buffet. Food selection was great, and decent portion of the beef. You also get to grill the beef yourself to your liking.
This can be the best hotel in japan I have visited! You can get a good thorough rest here by enjoying the baths and exquisite meals here! The view and service was superb too :)
